Consider a Donation to the Visual Resources Association Foundation!
When you invest in the VRAF, you invest in your profession. And when you invest in your profession, you invest in yourself. So we’re asking all of you to advance our profession by making a tax-deductible donation to the VRAF. We’ve helped professionals create tools that make all of our working lives better, enabled participation in conferences and symposia, aided in the development of unique digital collections, and offered vital educational experiences. Be a one-time donor, or set up a sustaining membership through PayPal. With your support, the VRA Foundation will be able to advance our profession for years to come. Give to the VRAF!
This year the fundraising theme was “Navigating the Future of Visual Resources,” using a nautical motif to signify our commitment to “relevance and responsiveness within the rapidly changing environment of the digital age”. We asked our long-time friends and generous supporters of the VRA Foundation to uncover a mystery. Initially, the artwork that was being used was unknown, as parts and pieces were unveiled as we approached our funding goal of $6500.
We surpassed that total this year and raised $8100 with many thanks to all of our donors! Without further ado, we present you with Earthenware plaques : Tile panel with seascape, Tegelbakkerij aan de Delftschevaart, c. 1680 – c. 1730, Rijksmuseum.
This artwork became even more relevant as this Spring has found us tossed into the great unknown at both work and at home. Your support of the VRA Foundation is doing real things despite this current crisis. There are still Regional Workshops moving online to help those looking for new avenues of learning, Project Grants, and we look forward to announcing further awards this summer.
