Consider a Donation to the Visual Resources Association Foundation!
Our fundraising campaign last year was a success with a total of $7,795 raised from donors like you. I urge you to read our annual report, which describes in detail the direct impact your contributions have made on the profession. These donations were instrumental in funding so much of what the Foundation does.
This year our Regional Workshop series leaped from regional to truly global as we pivoted to an interactive online format. The accessibility of these workshops is very satisfying, as is the variety of topics covered (Python, Visual Literacy, Intellectual Property Rights, and more), and we hope you had a chance to take advantage of at least one of them.
Your contributions also aid professional development in the field of visual resources and cultural heritage information management with VRAF Professional Development grants and Project grants. These grants are a great help, and reflect a wide spectrum of work, such as the 2021 project grant awarded to the Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium in Sarasota Florida for the documentation of nearly 1500 films, or a development grant awarded to Brian Watson to help with achieving a certificate in XML and RDF needed to build compatibility between Homosaurus—an international, community-maintained LGBTQ linked data vocabulary system and other major thesauri used in GLAMS cataloguing.
The entire VRAF Board thanks you again for your support of the VRA Foundation. Your generosity makes a big difference to our shared profession and goals. Please consider giving to this year’s campaign, as together we look forward to the coming year.
