The Summer Educational Institute for Digital Stewardship of Visual Information (SEI) is a joint project of the Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA) and the Visual Resources Association Foundation (VRAF). Beginning with the first institute held at Duke University in 2004 the goals for SEI have remained constant; to provide information professionals with a substantive educational and professional development opportunity focused on digital imaging, the information and experience needed to stay current in a rapidly changing field, and the opportunity to create a network of supportive colleagues. Since 2004 nearly 400 visual resources professionals, librarians, museum professionals, graduate students, and individuals from an ever-widening number of fields have attended SEI.

SEI 2020 has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic

While we had hoped to find a way to safely host SEI later this summer, it has become increasingly clear that the responsible thing to do is to cancel this year’s workshop. This is especially disappointing because we were all so excited about this year’s stellar curriculum and faculty lineup.  We hope you will consider attending SEI 2021 which will be held at Northwestern University. We will make an announcement about SEI 2021 on our website once the dates are secured.  Thank you.
